Squid Game creator talks season 2 & new “more violent” movie
Following the global success of his Korean TV series, which has been confirmed to be coming back for another season, Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk says he's now working on a new movie.
Dong-hyuk confirmed that he is working on something far more diabolical than Squid Game for his next project.
"It will be more violent than Squid Game,” he teased. He revealed that the working title for this upcoming project is “Killing Old People Club,” or “K.O. Club,” according to Variety.
The movie is reportedly based on a novel written by Umberto Eco.
Though he’s already started writing for the upcoming movie, Hwang added that he plans to return to South Korea to finish up the second season of Squid Game first as he is hoping to have the season ready for release by the end of 2024.
It’s no secret why Dong-hyuk is eager to finish the second season of Squid Game. After it debuted in September of last year, the series became one of Netflix’s biggest shows, garnering an enormous 1.65 billion viewing hours in over 142 million households worldwide.
Dong-hyuk also told The Korea Times he's already in talks about making a third season.
