Demi Lovato back to Punk Rock with “Skin Of My Teeth”

“Demi leaves rehab again. When is this shit gonna end?” Demi Lovato sings in a powerful start to her new single, Skin Of My Teeth.

The record, which is very guitar-heavy, is very reminiscent of Demi’s older track Don’t Forget with some elements of Hole’s Celebrity Skin. This genre suits Lovato well as as their voice seems made for it with Demi hitting every high pitch perfectly. The inclusion of pop-punk elements (which seems to be the vibe of Lovato’s upcoming album) merged with Lovato’s impeccable vocals shows a promising album and brings joy to many fans who grew up with the artist performing similar song, but will now be able to see it much elevated than before.

In a statement, Demi Lovato talked about their upcoming album:

“The process of making this album has been the most fulfilling yet, and I’m grateful to my fans and collaborators for being on this journey with me. Never have I been more sure of myself and my music, and this record speaks that for itself. To my Lovatics who have been rocking out with me since the beginning and those who are just now coming along for the ride, thank you. This record is for you.”

Demi Lovato announced the release of their upcoming album, Holy Fvck, which will be out August 19.

The new song announcement also comes a few days after Lovato shared the tour dates for their Holy Fvck tour, which kicks off with its South American leg in late August before embarking on the North American run at Hard Rock Live Sacramento in Wheatland, California on September 22.
