Rihanna announces baby #2 during Super Bowl performance!
After SIX years of not performing, Rihanna took to the stage during the Super Bowl halftime to perform her hits … and reveal a surprise!
The Barbadian singer began her highly anticipated 13-minute halftime show on a suspended platform in a bright red cotton canvas flight suit. The garment was almost entirely unzipped to reveal a matching silk jersey catsuit, sculpted leather corset … and a baby bump!
A representative for Rihanna confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the superstar is indeed pregnant.
The Grammy winner and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, welcomed their first child in May 2022. He was seen excitedly supporting her on the sidelines during the halftime show, filming her performance, and dancing along.
Earlier this week, the singer opened up about how becoming a mother influenced her decision to take on the stage for the Super Bowl Halftime show.
"When I first got the call to do it again this year, I was like, 'You sure?' Like, I'm three months postpartum, like, should I be making major decisions like this right now? Like, I might regret this," she said during the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show press conference. "But when you become a mom, there's something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world, you can do anything."
Many reports were circulating about an album drop or a tour announcement following Rihanna’s performance, however, despite not being true, Apple Music as well as Rihanna herself teased new music even though “an album will take time.”
