Is Blackpink making a comeback in 2022? Well, YG Entertainment has made some new moves hinting that the beloved girl group is coming back!
In 2021, Blackpink did not release any track as a group. The main reason behind the year gap is that all four members were focusing on their solo projects. The fans have definitely enjoyed the separate endeavors from Rosé, Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo.
Even though Blackpink did not release music as a group, both Rosé and Lisa definitely made up for it with their solo EPs. Rosé released On The Ground, while Lisa released Lalisa. Both projects broke records and were a commercial success proving once again the power of the girl group’s fanbase. Jisoo also starred in the K-drama, Snowdrop, which was released in December 2021.
The girls were also busy fulfilling their duties as global ambassadors of luxury fashion companies. Jennie is associated with Chanel and also appeared on the runways of the latest collection. In addition, Jennie worked with Calvin Klein in 2021 for an extraordinary photoshoot. Rosé also made history by making an appearance at the Met Gala and became the first Korean artist to attend the ceremony.
However, anxiously awaiting fans don’t need to wait much longer it seems! Reports say that the girl group will release their comeback single in the second quarter of this year with an album release date mid-year accompanied by a world tour.
