Lady gaga will star in “Joker” sequel

Lady Gaga has finally announced that has she will be joining the cast of Joker: Folie À Deux.

Lady Gaga will be starring opposite Joaquin Phoenix in director Todd Phillips’ sequel to Joker. The Oscar-winning movie grossed Warner Bros. a heaping $1 billion in 2019 (a rare achievement for recent DC movies).

There were rumors that Gaga was in talks to join the sequel early this year. Lady Gaga herself confirmed the news via an Instagram post portraying the Joker and Harley Quinn (whom Lady Gaga is rumored to play). Margot Robbie has previously played the titular character and even popularized through an amazing portrayal. Robbie will retain her role as the character in other projects as Joker sequel will be set in a different universe with different characters. The title of the sequel refers to a joined delusional disorder therefore confirming Harley Quinn’s huge involvement in the movie.

Phillips previously worked with Gaga as he produced the 2018 remake of A Star is Born, so the pair are already well aquatinted with a record for creating a great film. Gaga’s last movie was House Of Gucci which was only released last year and received a lot of critical praise.

The movie, which has been rumored to be a musical, will be set mostly around Arkham Asylum.

Warner Bros. has set an October 4, 2024 release date.
